Indications, Surgical Technique & Recovery
1. WHO IT'S FOR
• Severe or complex curve • Hourglass or hinge • Good erections
2. HOW IT'S DONE
• Plaque released • Graft placed
3. RECOVERY
• Traction or stretching afterward • Sex after about 6 weeks
Plaque incision and grafting corrects a severe or complex Peyronie's curve by cutting into the plaque to release the bend and covering the opening with a graft.
Who it's for
Men with a stable curve that is severe, or with an hourglass or hinge deformity, who still have good erections. Men with weaker erections usually do better with a penile implant and straightening at the same time.
What to expect
This preserves more length than plication but is a bigger operation, with a higher chance of weaker erections afterward. We go through which approach fits your curve and your erections.
Recovery
Usually outpatient or one night. Many men use traction or gentle stretching afterward. Sex usually resumes after about six weeks.
Risks
Weaker erections, changes in sensation, a remaining curve, and swelling or bruising.
